I have to defer to Pete on this one - the exif data didn't come with the jpeg he sent to me.

Nikon D200
Nikon AF 80-200mm f/2.8D lens
Aperture priority, probably around f/4 or f/3.2

The lighting made the difference, this was early in the morning and the sun had just climbed over the horizon.
