Picture of the Month #27
Time to hit the track again. Gonzo puts the hammer down on his '07 Cobalt Blue over Stone Grey Cayman S as he exits one of the most iconic corners in racing - the Oak Tree turn at ViR. He was one of a big "float" of Caymans and their owners who invaded the Zone 2 DE in March. Photograph by "Pistol" Pete Moy Nikon D200, 80-200mm-f/2.8. 1/160 sec @ f/9, ISO 200 |
Re: Picture of the Month #27
A great "action" shot! For gonzo's sake, it's a familiar scene, and one we hope to see repeated in the not-too-distant future.

Re: Picture of the Month #27
Nice -and I hope to see plenty more of this from gonzo soon!

Some post process work by Mr. beez to bring out some colors, sharpening, and other things that only a pro knows to do.
Here is my original. |

I'll talk to my friends at Adobe about that "poppier" button, sounds like such a a simple thing. BTW, the cupboard is getting a little bare on POTMs, so feel free to send some my way... please. |
Re: Picture of the Month #27
Wow! Great job with the latest POTM. I'm honored to grace the home page of the register. I expect to be back on the track later this season. I'm finally catching up and will be posting the latest status on my engine in a little while.

Hardly room for an acorn beneath the car! Nice shooting. Is this why they call you Pistol Pete:wink:

Nice speed shot, nice car. And I would like to know how that poppier button works!
|
Re: Picture of the Month #27
Really nice pic in a truly iconic turn. Good job by both Pete and Gonzo. Makes me miss hanging out with you guys on the track even more. And I just can't find the damn "Poppier" button on my photo editor... lol

Re: Picture of the Month #27
I haven't been to VIR in at least 30 years (maybe longer) but I saw that oak and knew exactly where that picture was taken. As an SCCA/IMSA corner captain I used to work the turn just before Oak Tree. Thanks for the memories. Great picture!

Re: Picture of the Month #27
Thanks for the various Pictures of the month. Brought back wonderful memories.
Sad the Oak Tree fell down in a storm. I miss that noble landmark. Thanks again. Ed |
Re: Picture of the Month #27
That IS a great photo of a beautiful car. I got to make quite a few rounds under that old oak in my Audi before it fell. Unfortunately the Cayman will make it's first trip there this November and round the corner with no shade. I wonder if I'll be able to find the apex? :-)
