[justify]September 3rd is the birthday of Prof. Dr. Ing. h.c. Ferdinand Porsche. We all are in his debt for starting a little company that has turned out cars that have stroked the imagination and passion of several generations of fans.

We at the Cayman Register and PCA thought it would be nice to celebrate his birthday with a small contest and giveaway. Tell us in this thread what you would ask or say if you had the chance to sit down and have a (German) beer with the good Dr. Porsche.

We are happy to announce a new forum for our members to share photos and stories about driving their Caymans and having fun in non-track events. Just cruising to a new road, gathering with other owners for a meal in some new restaurant, checking out the produce stands in the countryside, going on a picnic, or you name it.

There are many ways that Cayman owners get a lot of pleasure from driving their cars and we would like to hear about it and have it shared here. So, we scraped around and found ten more of the Porsche produced collectible Cayman DVDs and will give one to each of the first ten members who post stories plus photos about their favorite drives.

[JUSTIFY]Today (June 1st, 2010) is an important day in PCA history. Today the Porsche Club of America has a new register group, this time for Boxster owners. Please help me in congratulating Bob Purgason (the Boxster Register Advocate, aka Bruno Boxster), John Novotnak (Boxster Register Administrator, aka Keoni986) and Miles Beach (Boxster Register Administrator, aka Beach987) for their successful launch of another online community inside the PCA.

Bob, John and Miles have been working very hard on this project since January. I know I can speak for beez and Santa Fe when I say that it has been our pleasure to work with and guide them into this endeavor. They have been a pleasure to work with, have learned incredibly quickly and excelled in so many ways. They've done a fantastic job. The Boxster community is in for a very pleasant surprise.

Please help them spread the word. If you know a Boxster enthusiast, please tell them to check out http://BoxsterRegister.org. As Cayman owners, we have a lot of valuable information that can be of use to the 987 Boxster community. [pic=left]http://caymanregister.org/picture.php?albumid=198&pictureid=1935[/pic]We decided it would be fun to showcase a different member's car each month, so we've decided to begin a new feature on the front (or home) page of the Cayman Register called "Picture of the Month".

The pictures naturally, should be of a Cayman or Cayman S, and can be a shot of your car in a natural setting, an urban setting, or on the track, something moody... whatever, it's your choice. If someone besides yourself shoots the picture, you must get their permission to submit the picture - we'll be on the honor system here for copyright - but there is no provision in our "budget" to pay anyone for the use of these, mostly because we really don't have a "budget." While the official title will be "Picture of the Month," if we get some nice ones, it might change more often - so a title like "Picture of Whenever We Feel Like Changing it," might be more appropriate, but doesn't have quite the same ring to it. But, we'll change the picture at least once a month.

To submit your picture(s) Please upload them to a public photo album here on the Cayman Register. Then, send a Private Message to beez, with a link to that picture asking for your picture to be considered. From these we'll choose each new one. Pictures used over time will be displayed in the "Pictures of the Month" picture album.
