Guys,
Who's in on this...? This is huge. We did this at the NYIAS back in Fall, and Porsche rolled out the red carpet for us, let us into the show before the crowds, gave us unfiltered access to all of the cars and the people.
If you can make this, I strongly suggest you take advantage of this. But don't hesitate.... These spots will go real fast.

Just wondering, I've been out of the loop on this, but is there any chance the "very special World premiere" is - ahem - a new variant of the Cayman?

I just heard there are less than 50 spots left. Hurry....!!! Have any of our members gotten in?

There have been many rumors, and even Porsche has eluded to a special world premier in the invitation above. I know one thing for sure, if I could be there, I wouldn't miss it.

I am jealous. Here in Houston we have a really crappy auto show with only Detroit and rice burners. NO PORSCHE. Bums me out every year.

Mark,
You'd better go now before the snow flies. Your baby will be garaged until Spring! If you go take some pix for me.

Craig you jinxed me... It started snowing today, in Town, like my front yard. Looks like I'll have to take the work truck to The L.A. Auto Show :(.

Sorry, Mark. However your work truck is pretty stylish so it should still be good to go! :cool2:

Hmmmm...I'd suggest we could do something at the more lowly Washington Auto Show, but I recall last year Porsche wasn't even there.

from Porsche press release this morning about the show...
presents a world premiere and two US premieres at the Los Angeles Auto Show. A mid-engine sports car which will be unveiled during a press conference at 10:55 a.m. on November 17 is right in the spotlight. The world premiere will be flanked by new 911 models, the 911 GTS and the 911 Speedster. With these three thoroughbred sports cars, Porsche crowns an outstanding year in the US market.

I was one of the lucky ones that got in with Mike and the usual suspects from the Registrar and it was just fantastic...the Porsche people and the PCA made us feel like stars...had breakfast ready for us and we got to sit in all of the new introductions...the new Cayenne, Boxster Spyder, and the just introduced Panamera...it was really cool...I would be there in a NY minute...very funny story...we were in the cars for a few hours before the riff-raff was allowed in...when the show opened...they locked all the cars!

As Mike said, there's a lot of rumors whirling around - and PAG themselves have put out a press release saying some sort of new "mid-engined car" is being introduced... since we know what mid-engined cars they already produce, that narrows it down to two existing models or something new with a mid-engine... the 918 was a mid-engined car... so it could be anything. We'll have to wait a couple of days and see, I guess.

Hey! Who are you calling riff-raff? Just this once, they let me into the show before the "general public."

Here is the latest tidbit - take it as you will - from a New York Times "Wheels" email I just received:
"Porsche's Cayman coupe will be revamped into a lighter and sportier iteration, possibly to be called the Clubsport, to be offered for sale in late 2011. Other Los Angeles introductions inlcude the 911 Carrera GTS, a commemorative edition Speedster and a recently unearthed 1950 356."

I like the steering wheel. Good to see a few more colors. Other than those points and more market hype for the marque, not much to talk about really. Bring on the Gen 3 RS.
At least they raised the red line to 7400, but I was expecting more.
